Why? Why? Why are you so cute? As if he wasn’t cute enough as a newborn and at 3 months!  He is just getting cuter by the minute — with more and more of his personality shining through…He’s got such a sweet and gentle way about him that just makes you want to give him snuggles and hugs all day! If you look closely, you can see little sweetie pie’s two teeny bottom teeth coming in :)

I think his hair will be standing straight up when I see him again in two months – just like my son’s when he was this age. I just love it! And, these beautiful words of inspiration that gently reminded me about the importance of living in the moment, appreciating our children & taking in their sweet babyness while they’re still little.

Awww, just look at these sweet, innocent eyes….and that beautiful pout!

Yay! Another milestone reached — sitting up all by himself…and he looks so darn cute doing it!

More to come! It was so wonderful seeing you all again! Little man is growing so fast :) I can’t wait to see him again in November! Oh, and thank you sooo sooo much for the Crocs :)

It’s slideshow time!  I’ve always felt that the images from my sessions tell a story…and belong together. ..and I’ve been wanting to put shows together for clients but have been just busy as a bee with the holidays…but I finally got off my bum and did it (and also woke up at 4am this morning). So, for clients asking about adding slideshow/movie files to their CDs…here’s what it’ll look like…they can easily be uploaded to sites like YouTube so you can view them forever :)  Also, kudos to Renee & Jeremy for their awesome musical genius) – make sure to turn up the volume for a treat for your ears. Press the play button in the center of the show to begin.

I mean, seriously?!  How cute is he?  With those big, beautiful eyes, pouty lips & pinchable cheeks…
He’s already so handsome at 7 months…and I just know he’s going to be a heart breaker when he grows up!

I know this is true: Mom is the best at making baby boy giggle up a storm! This image was taken right when our model was feeling a little tired = cranky…but with a little help from mom, he was all smiles!

Hmmm…looks like he might be taking after mom with surfing…
Just look at that form, he’s so ready to put those toes on the nose.

Me looooove pink lips :) Baby skin is so perfectly flawless.

Being at the center of attention is a hard job. I mean, looking so darn cute is a lot of work….Mr. Cutie needed a little snooze here….he knocked out like a champ.

Those toes kill me. So sweet. Ahhh, this was a wonderful session :) The last time I photographed this family, our model was only days old. Out of all the newborns and babies I’ve had the pleasure of photographing, he’s changed the most in 6 months. Check out his newborn session here – and you can see the huge difference 6 months makes….just imagine what it’ll be at 12 mos!!!

…that I love capturing – it’s meeting wonderful people and having beautiful conversations with families. Mom was just a joy – so sweet and kind. Watching her interact with baby boy just warmed my heart; I could see all the love she has for him…and it was really beautiful to witness. So it was no surprise that our little model was just as sweet as his mommy! AND absolutely adorable, too! Just look at those big, innocent eyes:

I love how mommy looks at her baby boy with such adoration…

Can a smile be any sweeter???

And so, the fascination with his toes has begun!

It was awesome to watch a feature on the Today Show about Newborn Photography. It’s so very refreshing to see our craft being highlighted in the media…and to know that a great artist is being acknowledged for her amazing work.  Newborn photography is definitely one of my favorite types of sessions – it’s just amazing to look back and see how teeny tiny our babies were! Here’s the video…and of course, some of my favorite newborn images this year:

“Still?” I have no idea what the word “still” means…I only know what the words “run” and “avoid” mean…

Toddlers are never boring. ever.

Especially when they’ve just entered the terrible two’s.

Some essentials to have for photographing toddlers: running shoes, hair tie, knee pads…

…any and all gear suitable for an athletic event. Oh, and patience + your best goofy face!

  • Tina Ryan I LOVE your work! The clarity and exposure are so dead on all the time.(09.15.2009 06:56pm)

So sweet, so cute, so happy!

..and here he was as a precious little newborn at 2 weeks old:

8 months makes a world of a difference! It blows my mind how quickly babies grow and change during their first year. Can’t we just keep them small forever????

  • Mary@Holy Mackerel Great shots! I think it's hilarious that, as much as he's changed, his hair is the same as it was at 2 weeks!!(09.14.2009 01:09pm)

…and already a plump little angel…

I could just watch newbies for hours. They make the cutest little facial expressions and make the sweetest gurgles and coos.

She looks mad…but she’s just giving us a big yawn :)

…it’s my passion, it’s what I love – photographing life’s most beautiful moments, that is. I feel so lucky to do what I do – working with amazing families and nurturing life long friendships with them. It’s the best job in the world! The sessions below inspired me this morning. Here baby girl is at 7 months – and just below that is her as a newborn. Our babies grow up so, so fast…It’s neat to be able to see the difference 7 months makes.

Spunky little girl with lots of personality!

And here she is at 14 days old :)

Why is she so adorable? Clients see a lot of her because she’s in my sample albums that I bring with me to sessions.  Pretty much everyone comments on how pretty her lips are :)

Sigh. Okay, that’s enough nostalgia for now. My sister-in-law just had a baby about 3 hours ago. I’m officially an Aunt! Yay! All this newborn thinking has started my clock ticking again :P My son is 19 months and needs a playmate!
