…mama to be is hot! Lookin’ fierce in her third trimester – very saucy and pretty as can be. She’s spunky, energetic, upbeat and positive — just the type of person I love to hang out with! We got along so, so well — it was as if we’ve known each other for years :) Though it was cloudy on the morning of our photo shoot, mommy and daddy to be brought enough fire to keep warm (how cute and in love are they?!) Plus, just look at Bruno, their first baby – he is seriously the sweetest doggie ever! He’s going to be a wonderful big brother to buttercup. I’m so excited to meet her in a little under a month (or sooner!)

Just like his big sister, he’s got such a beautiful complexion! Soft, fair and very delicate, this baby boy is just as handsome as can be at less than 10 days old. Is he not gorgeous?! And I’m not sure what’s going on, but perfect light seems to hover around them. With every session, the light is always devine…it amazes me. Sigh, I realllly love newborn sessions – with each family, I have a renewed sense of wonderment and awe of how precious newborns are – how delicate and fragile they are…and how beautiful new life is. As always, it was a joy photographing this sweet family! I’m so, so excited about their newest addition :) One boy and one girl – so perfect! I’m eagerly looking forward to seeing them grow up together – I bet they’ll be best buds within a few months time!

All I want to do

…is sleep. Wow! Typically, my newborn sessions are within the first two weeks of birth…mostly because babies are really sleepy during the first few weeks which means lots of snuggly, sleepy, squishy baby photos. Then at around 3 weeks, they become more alert, which means they like to stay awake during sessions to see what’s going on. But this time, our little baby boy was just as sleepy as can be. He was such a great little model. We tried to wake him up for some photos to capture his big eyes – but he wasn’t having it! In fact, he got very annoyed at us for even trying…I think he tried to keep his eyes open for a little, but each time, those lids would quickly get heavy and he’d be ready for more snoozing. The photos towards the bottom were when we tried to keep him awake…he wasn’t very excited about this – but cute nonetheless. I can’t complain though, I always love sleepy babies – so here he is…just as snuggly and sleepy as can be.

Two sweet girls, two beautiful sisters, two wonderful dads and a lovely cloudy day made for a perfect session! June gloom is clearly in full effect – and I really couldn’t be happier about that! It was a gorgeous day at the beach…with the sun peeking through for a few minutes at a time to illuminate the sky and warm up the crisp beachy air…it was perfect :)

… I’d much rather stay awake!

Although baby girl wanted to stay awake during our session – we did luck out and get a few minutes of sleep time. Ohh, and it was well worth the wait to get a sweet shot like the one below.

More to come! Wait until you see her amazing blue eyes!

Awwww – Just look at that beautiful million dollar smile! His two bottom teeth showing make me love this shot even more! And his eyes?! Ummm, gorgeous!

A little boy and his rocks…I’m not sure what it is with babies and rocks, but my son was the same way at one year old. He just loooooved rocks and tried to shove them in his mouth all the time (gasp). Now that he’s older, he just puts them in his pocket (thank goodness). Here’s the birthday boy inspecting the plethora of rocks….and checking out the stool he’s sitting on-babies seem to love my stool-I think it’s the cool texture!

Oh my goodness – such a sweet, sweet smile! Ear to ear and accented with yummy dimples! Here’s the birthday boy – letting me know what he thinks about my camera :) Happy Happy First Birthday!!!

This was a great photo session with a sweet family! It’s always so nice to see babies grow – the last time I photographed this little guy he was about 6 months old – and it’s so wonderful to be invited to photograph him again at ONE! Happy Birthday, Finn!!!
