…I’m talking about frosting! I think it looks perfect on him :) Blogging these pictures makes me totally hungry for a cupcake (or two). There are few things in life that come close to the cuteness that results from letting a baby eat a cupcake all by himself…especially when that baby is chubby, adorable and super charming like this baby boy. The first is my absolute favorite. He’s focused, and shoves the entire thing in his mouth without hesitation – impressive! Although he did flash his sweet smile several times during our time together, those smiles weren’t nearly as huge as they were when he had a cupcake in hand :) I adore these cupcake shots! But of course, we did take some pictures of him when he wasn’t wearing frosting – and he was equally cute in those too. But overall, I’d have to say I love the cupcake ones most – he wears that frosting well, doesn’t he?!
…to end the year than with a fantastic maternity session. My very last session for 2010! It was just perfect. The sky was clear, the sun was shining, and the parents-to-be were so adorable together. I was reaaaally ecstatic that it was so gorgeous outside….the sunset was phenomenal and I thought it was so perfect for them…since they’re both from Hawai’i, it’s only right to stay true to their roots with a sunset beach session…although, LA sunsets cannot compete with Hawai’i sunsets – this as as close as it gets :) And, as I often write on my blog, one thing I love most about what I do is getting to meet such great people…and making connections with them. I lived in Honolulu as well (my dad’s side of the family is from the Big Island), so I’m always stoked when I meet my fellow Hawai’i peeps! So now, on to the photos. I think my faves are the last few…and the very last one shows how lovely the sunset was that evening. Thanks to mother nature for clearing away the clouds 20 minutes before sunset!
When I saw baby boy, I was totally blown away by his amazingly big, beautiful brown eyes…and that pout – just perfection. THEN, I saw the two girls – are they not super gorgeous?! The good looking genes were obvious – it was almost unbearable – my camera was definitely happy. And WOW – look at mom…hello hot-mama! True, we were chasing the sun as it set reaaallly fast, but sometimes, the best sessions are the fastest ones!
Oh.my.goodness. She has got to be the sweetest little thing ever. Totally feminine, charming, precious….adorably cuddly and just plain sweet! Not surprisingly, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, as her mommy is just as sweet — and beautiful. What a lucky guy daddy is…two lovely girls to see every day! Here’s the beautiful family:
…is the only word that can really describe how I was feeling throughout our session! It was an absolute blast hanging out, playing on the beach, cracking jokes with the kids (their kids are so awesome, by the way – totally cute and sooo funny). True, we did have a sandy mess at the end of the session (and little man taking a full body dip into the ocean – fully clothed), but even he was a great sport about it – not even a peep/cry! And mom and dad were so relaxed…laughed, joked, and had a blast playing with their beautiful kiddos – which always, always shows through in the images….as you can see:
I think it’s safe to say that, one – they are a gorgeous family…and two – they looove being together :)
A darling, darling little boy…big blue eyes and just as sweet as can be!

….for words. Is she not just the prettiest pregnant woman you’ve ever seen? Obviously glowing…and seriously beautiful. Extremely natural in front of the camera….and so easy to photograph! I’m *guessing* that her baby is going to be equally gorgeous…I’m sure he’ll be a handsome little stud!
I know, I know, she’s got the biggest brown eyes and the cutest little face. I can totally understand why daddy wants to cuddle up next to her all the time! If you think this image is cute, wait ’til you see her smile! Her face lights up completely and so does everyone around her :) And, she’s got a beautiful big sister who adores her…and is a classic beauty herself (she looks just like mommy).
…in my bag so I can take him home! Hello, Mr. Dimples – you are just a handsome little thing, aren’t you? Not only was he just the cutest, but was so absolutely happy and smiley! I loved it, he had me giggling the entire session! How cute cute cute is he?
The morning sun, the light, the energy, the beautiful family…just stop it! Stop being so adorable!!! Really though – this family was a joy to photograph. The love they have for each other and their natural, honest, in-the-moment affection was contagious. And how lovely was the light that morning? One thing I love about photographing babies is that because they usually wake up early, it means we can have early photo sessions and benefit from the wonderful morning sunlight!!!

This is a perfect example of a smashing wardrobe choice for baby – just look at little man – what a handsome guy!
GQ model in the future? It’s very possible…
One of my favorite shots to take are of mother and baby snuggling. There’s nothing quite like it. I can’t help but feel all mushy inside even when I’m behind the lens because I almost feel what mom is feeling…I think about my son and how much he enriches my world :) Awww.
